Omar Richardson

Omar Melvin Richardson (M.F.A., printmaking, 2010; B.F.A., painting, 2006) was born in 1982 in Nassau, Bahamas and by the age of sixteen had his first exhibit with well-known Bahamian artist, Chad Pratt. His solo exhibitions include a show at the College of the Bahamas in 2000; “Similar Differences II” in the Pro gallery at the College of the Bahamas and an exhibit in the City Trust Bank boardroom in 2002. In 2007 and 2010 Richardson won the Central Bank of the Bahamas Annual Art Competition. Richardson has been a featured artist at Shop SCAD in Atlanta and Savannah, Georgia and was the first SCAD student to be invited to Highpoint’s Center for Printmaking first invitational exhibit in Minneapolis, MN in 2008. His work has been included in numerous group exhibitions from 1999 to 2017.
