Meike Bertrand-Paniza (M.F.A., photography, 2017; B.A., visual communication, 2013) is from The Netherlands. Inspired by a desire to create images that are both highly personal and experiential, Bertrand-Paniza’s photographs appeal to the senses and induce recollections. The meaning of the images remain open-ended and offer a poetic pause or glimpse of temporal and physical spaces. In the past few years, her photographs have been included at the Anchorage Museum Rasmuson Center in Alaska; the Mt. Rokko International Photography Festival in Kobe, Japan and Punctum: Photographic Center North-West's 20th Annual Photography Exhibition in Portland, Oregon. This is where her diptych "Sparks" was awarded the first place. In 2016, she was one of the 100 photographers selected to attend Review Santa Fe with the body of work "Between Land and Sky."
