Matt Hebermehl

Los Angeles, CA
Matt Hebermehl's (B.F.A., illustration, 2003) work shape-shifts to fit the space and the occasion, from the crumpled confines of a sheet of thermal paper to the broad expanse of a wall. The Los Angeles, California-based artist is the cofounder of SeeSAW, a Savannah, Georgia, arts organization mobilizing artists, businesses, officials and residents to engage with contemporary public art. In 2013, the Savannah City Council adopted a policy developed by SeeSAW to enable and protect the creation of art on private property. Since then, Hebermehl and others have enlivened the walls of common spaces and SCAD buildings with dynamic public installations.
