In his work, Markeidric Walker (B.F.A., painting, 2015) focuses on the contemporary evolution of classical painting techniques applied to modern subjects and concepts. By manipulating the application of paint, he inspires engagement in the content. Walker has closely studied the masters, from da Vinci and Rembrandt to Monet and Cézanne. As a Black artist working in this tradition, he is one of the first post-modern Neo-Classical artists.
