Mara Magyarosi-Laytner (M.F.A. photography; M.A., arts administration, 2016) is a Detroit-based artist and award-winning educator. Through experimental photographic methods, she explores different aspects of the human condition. Magyarosi-Laytner has shown work in venues throughout the Detroit area, including the N’Namdi Center for Contemporary Art, Arthur Secunda Museum at Cleary University, and the Valade Family Gallery at the College for Creative Studies, as well as in Youngstown, Ohio, and Brooklyn. Her work is held in private collections across the U.S., Canada, and Great Britain. Magyarosi-Laytner has been published in various articles and magazines, including the Madness issue of A Women’s Thing magazine (spring 2017), alongside renowned artist Carrie Mae Weems and New York Times bestselling author Edan Lepucki.
