Labeeb Abdullah’s (B.F.A., motion media, 2004) work is strongly influenced by music, culture and his environment. Surrounded by books, video games, cartoons, movies and music videos from an early age, Abdullah now creates in a wide range of mediums: film, photography, graphic design, sculpture, painting, fashion design and writing. During more than 10 years in the music industry, Abdullah has had visual collaborations with platinum recording artists T.I., Ludacris, 2Chainz, Big Sean, Young Jeezy, Gucci Mane, Lil Jon, The Dream, Meek Mill, and others. He recently held a solo gallery show featuring his private collection of fine art, and has curated two collaborative fashion shows with SCAD alumni and students. Currently based in his hometown of Savannah, Georgia, Abdullah — a.k.a. L.A. The Artist — does community service and fundraising for area nonprofits including The Salvation Army, Goodwill, Seeds Global, and Gateway. He’s also finishing a documentary film titled “Port Life 912.”
