Savannah, GA
Kurt Vargo (M.F.A., illustration, 2009) has been an illustration professor at SCAD for 14 years. Vargo’s designs combine free-form geometric shapes that are activated by traditional and digital pigment combinations, which he then organizes into a balanced design of pictorial structure and visual harmony. All works presented are a combination of acrylics, oil pastels, cut paper/collage and digital media and are giclée ink jet printed on a high quality archival surface. He is a graduate of the School of Visual Arts in New York, New York, where he earned his B.F.A. in painting and printmaking, and taught illustration concepts there for more than 20 years. Vargo resides on Wilmington Island in Savannah, Georgia.
