Kristen Albrecht

Kristen Albrecht started her creative career drawing on her parent's furniture. From that point on she took a ridiculous amount of workshops and received a BFA from Savannah College of Art and Design. In college she focused on metalsmithing and discovered enamel. It was the perfect mesh of the two mediums she had fallen in love with and opened up another world of technique. In her current paintings she is using the materials much like traditional enameling techniques-layer upon layer. Each layer interacting differently and sometimes unexpectedly with the one below it. Each paint stroke, layer of resin, cut of paper, is as much an act of emotion as one of logic. She’s currently challenging the expectations of hotel and corporate artwork, with large scale installations and a ton of color.
