Kenzie Adair (b. Oklahoma, 1991) completed her B.F.A. at the Savannah College of Art and Design, Savannah, GA in 2014. She has exhibited her work in group exhibitions in Savannah, GA, Tulsa, OK, and Lacoste, France. Her most recent work compares organic forms, patterns, and materials with simulated representations of nature and the body. By layering abstracted figurative forms and natural fibers with digitally-constructed patterns and synthetic fabric, Adair creates spaces where materials integrate with each other to the point of indiscernibility, as well as spaces where they oppose and restrict each other. The resulting works are medium scale mixed media paintings which question the increasing presence of fabricated imagery, material, and experiences accepted in present popular culture. Kenzie Adair currently lives and works in Tulsa, OK.
