Katie Chatham (b. Alabama, 1998) will be receiving a BFA in Painting from Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, GA. Using visual language which alludes to introspection and transformation, Chatham’s work, as a whole, is a search to better understand the self. One body of work investigates myths and archetypes as a means to identify universal truths that can unite all individuals. Her most recent work, ranging from small to large scale oil paintings, explores how nature reveals and reflects the divine within us. She studied abroad in Rome, Italy twice, learning the language and taking art and art history courses. This has given her valuable life experience and has influenced her work greatly. She has exhibited her work in juried exhibitions and other group exhibitions in Alabama and Georgia. Chatham is currently living and working in Georgia.
