Justin Zielke (M.F.A., animation, 2017) is an American sculptor living in Pratt, Kansas. He completed a master's degree at the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2017. While at SCAD, he developed an understanding of human movement and film semiotics in experimental animation. The moving image naturally transitions into sculpture. He now focuses on how a sculpture affects the viewer's experience while walking through an environment. The materials he works with consist of wood, clay, resin and found objects. The subject matter forms from his interaction with the medium and finds a balance between expression and figurative accuracy.
