Johanna Hickey (B.F.A., fibers, 2007) is an artist, production designer and choreographer. She began her career as a fiber artist, working for Anthropologie to create store and window displays in New York, New York. Eventually Hickey became more interested in creating pliable dreamscapes and moveable pictures. It was in New York that she met painter and director Michael Anderson, and they began an extensive collaboration. Hickey has worked as a production designer and prop maker on numerous projects with Anderson, from music videos and commercials to an immersive soundscape that warped the interiors of Clocktower Gallery (Tribeca) into an abandoned Western landscape. Hickey now resides in Savannah, Georgia, with her four cats alongside a dairy field where she spends her time modernizing the portrait.
