Jason Hackenwerth is an artist using common materials in transformational ways. Known primarily for ephemeral works with latex balloons, his sculptures and installations have been exhibited around the world. Jason received his MFA in painting from Savannah College of Art and Design in 2010 and Bachelor of Fine Art in printmaking from Webster University, 1997. Press includes, Art Desk, Creative Review UK, American Craft, Design Journal, Art In America, Sculpture Magazine, The New York Times, London Metro, This is Colossal, Metal Magazine, and Hi-Fructose Magazine. Grants include: Pollock-Krasner Foundation Inc. 2011 and Creative Pinellas Professional Artist Grant 2018. He is a professor of art and printmaking at Eckerd College and currently lives and works in St Petersburg FL.
