Brandon Woods (M.F.A., painting, 2015) is an interdisciplinary artist who works in painting and digital processes. His process is based deeply in the research of fields such as computer programming, neuroscience and probability theory, and enables his work to activate space and time through the viewer’s engagement with them. He has received multiple awards and honors including the prestigious Chair’s Fellowship from the Savannah College of Art and Design. He was awarded a residency at the Emporium Center for Arts & Culture in Knoxville, Tennessee, and received a Personal Development Support grant from the Tennessee Arts Commission, which culminated in his first solo show at the Emporium Center for Arts & Culture in September 2011. In 2014, Woods was awarded both a residency at the Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts in New York City and an internship at the Pierogi Gallery in Brooklyn, New York. His works have been exhibited and collected throughout the United States and internationally, in New York, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Miami, Hong Kong, Canada, and France. Woods lives and works in Knoxville, Tennessee.
